Be a kid again and go play!

Happy Aloha Friday and the weekend! I'm so excited about not having to wake up at 6:30am and getting to sleep in.  Sleeping is my favorite indulgence, yes even better than chocolate which is a very close second!

The weekend IS HERE! Time to spend with family and friend's, which for my family, usually revolves around delicious meals and yummy treats. Living life on a diet is no fun when you want to enjoy life's fabulous moments…so my best advice, is go ahead, enjoy it, but just balance what you put into your body with exercise. You knew it was coming. I had to talk about the "E" Word!

Exercise can be fun! I promise! Go play! Be a kid again and have fun! Last week I was brave enough to lace up my roller skates and play with my family. It was fun and a great workout. If you don't make exercise fun, you won't do it. You don't have to run on a treadmill for an hour or bike for miles to lose weight. Just live your life in balance and remind your body of playtime and do activities that you enjoy. If its walking, go someplace that will keep you moving.

I love walking on the beach, especially in the cool morning hours. I love hiking and exploring my beautiful island home. I also love walking and window shopping at the mall, just need to stay away from the tempting foods and drinks if I'm going to be to lazy and not exercise it off. Everything is a trade off. Just like you exchange money for goods and services, you have to trade exercise for food. It's all energy. Treat your body like an incredible machine and it will perform at its optimal best. I treat my body like an expensive italian sports car and feed it the best food and nutrients to keep me feeling great. I would never put cheap fuel in a ferrari.

Your body is valuable and priceless, treat it with love. We only get one body for this life, so feed it well and keep it running at its optimum best. And have fun! The best part of having a beautiful body is getting to play and show it off. Enjoy every moment!

Love and gratitude for my health and yours.
Aloha,
Maile
